Advantages and disadvantages
A beautiful reef, with the chance to see sea turtles, rays, and sometimes even a dugong (sea cow) right by the hotel.
Warm and genuinely friendly staff. Waiters and housekeeping staff are keen to help without constantly expecting tips.
The hotel is small, very green, and well maintained. Everything is compactly laid out — it is only a 2–3 minute walk from the room to the beach.
A peaceful atmosphere: there are no loud discos until the early hours. This is a place for relaxation, reading, and simply gazing at the sea.
As for the food, the choice is not huge, but the ingredients are good quality, the pastries are tasty, and there are themed dinners.
The hotel does have some older rooms. As returning guests, we were given one that had undergone a light cosmetic refresh.
Weak Wi-Fi, and it can be windy on the beach — but this is Marsa Alam, where strong winds are quite common. At times a red flag is raised on the pier, which means swimming in deeper water is restricted (though there is a lagoon where you can always swim).
Beyond the hotel, it is basically desert. There are no shops or promenades nearby — only taxis or excursions.
